Maile Sengoura is the founder and owner of Maile’s Thai Bistro, a local favorite nestled in Hawaii Kai Towne Center where bold Thai flavors meet the spirit of aloha. Maile opened the restaurant in 2009 with a clear mission: to bring authentic Thai cuisine to the community while making every guest feel like family.
Growing up surrounded by food and family, Maile’s love of cooking started early. She spent her youth helping her mom in the kitchen, soaking in the vibrant aromas and complex flavors that make Thai food so beloved. As a teenager, she worked in a variety of kitchen and hospitality roles — from prep cook to server — gaining firsthand experience that shaped her approach to hospitality and cuisine.
Her passion for Thai and Southeast Asian flavors led her to balance tradition with creativity. At Maile’s Thai Bistro, classic favorites like Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Papaya Salad sit alongside signature dishes that fuse local island influences with Thai technique and taste.
